Conventional Radiography

A time-tested method for detecting flaws

TRAC Energy’s conventional radiography service offers a time-tested method for detecting internal flaws and assessing the structural integrity of offshore assets. This non-destructive testing technique uses X-rays or gamma rays to produce detailed images of an object’s internal structure on photographic film.

Our skilled technicians employ conventional radiography for:

  • Weld quality control during pipeline construction and repairs
  • Detecting internal defects in pressure vessels and storage tanks
  • Assessing wall thickness in piping systems
  • Identifying corrosion and erosion in hard-to-reach areas

Conventional radiography excels at revealing, cracks, voids, and inclusions in welds, internal corrosion and wall thinning, blockages or deposits within sealed components, and as well as manufacturing defects in castings and forgings.

While digital methods are increasingly common, conventional film radiography remains highly reliable. Our technicians are experienced in deploying this method safely in challenging offshore environments, ensuring thorough inspections without compromising operational safety.

Contact TRAC Energy today to gain valuable insights into your equipment’s condition.
